When you have Koi in your garden pond the water must remain in a shady area. You will have to check the water s pH levels regularly. Any acidic content in the water can be damaging for the Koi fish in your pond.

Koi ponds have to be filled, drained and re-filled many times. You must assure yourself that your pond is absolutely cleared of all damaging impurities. And, as follows, you must maintain the cleanliness of your garden Koi fish pond.

There are many precautions you can take to assure that your koi pond is completely prepared to be the home of beautiful Japanese Koi fish.

1)	Aeration and Water Filtration Systems

o	Be sure to use the highest quality filtration systems for designing and preparing a Koi pond - this is very important. Without taking the proper steps to avoid making your pond a deadly home for Koi. Often, a person who loves the hobby of gardening and is dedicated to maintaining a Koi pond will consult a professional for a recommendation on the very best merchandise available.

o	It is very important to have a mechanical filter, a mechanical filter is recommended by virtually any professional you talk to.

o	Chemical filters are a good idea if you if you have purchased young koi for life in your pond, before they have completely matured.

o	In addition, if you choose a biological filtration system you must give the system a certain period of time to become filly affective.

More tips:

2)	Purchasing Koi Fish

o	Koi are a kind of fish with many different species available for garden ponds in an extreme variety of sizes, shapes and an array of beautiful colors to choose from.

3)	Caring for Koi Fish in Your Koi Fish Pond

o	Have at least two drains at the bottom of your Koi pond.

o	Make sure you know what chemicals to check for, and have the chemicals you may need to adjust pH levels in your Koi fish pond available at all times.

o	Be sure to make a regular schedule for checking the cleanliness of your Koi pond - no matter what kind of Koi fish you have.

When you want to keep Koi fish in your garden pond, you need to create specific conditions for them. Do not simply introduce Koi to your pond water. Any impurities in the water could be dangerous for your Koi fish. The pond conditions for a Koi fish pond are complicated. Many people attend groups and seek consults from other gardeners to give each other advice.

At the beginning of each visit to your OB/GYN, you will be weighed. At this time, your doctor will then chart your current weight with the weight you were before you found out you were pregnant. Once he has done this he will plug the numbers into a pregnancy weight gain calculator.

Knowing What to Expect

Average sized women usually gain up to 35 pounds during the entirety of their pregnancy, but do not worry, this is not all fat. The baby, placenta, enlarged uterus, maternal breast volume, increased blood volume, and the creation of more bodily fluid will account for only 26 pounds.

The women who are underweight will be instructed to gain more weight, and overweight women will be instructed to try and maintain their weight. Women who have difficulty maintaining weight will have a harder time losing it postpartum.

The second trimester is a time of accelerated growth for your baby. A pregnancy weight gain calculator is very helpful in this time. Keeping track of your weight gain, will help you stay sane during your emotionally turbulent time. Not only is your baby growing but you are dealing with some serious physical and emotional changes.

One of the most common emotions is frustration you feel like everything is going out of control around you. During your pregnancy you will outgrow your clothes, feel unattractive, and have little or no interest in sex. When the frustration comes, remember that pregnancy is temporary, and that eventually your body will return to normal, hopefully.

How to Gain Weight Gracefully

A pregnancy weight gain calculator is a tool that you can use to help you stay within healthy weight limits during your pregnancy.

When using a pregnancy weight gain calculator it is important to remember, that when the numbers go up, it s not just you! Pregnancy adds to your weight! You aren t just carrying the extra weight of your growing baby, you are also toting around the excess weight of the swollen vital tissues, full of blood and water.

Here is the pregnancy weight gain breakdown:

Your baby accounts for about 7 pounds of your burgeoning body.

Keep Healthy By Monitoring Pregnancy Weight Gain
...

What Do You Need to Eat for an Active Pregnancy?
...

The Downside of Conception: Pregnancy Weight Gain
...

Pregnancy Exercise Video To Avoid Pregnancy Weight Gain
...

How Much Weight To Gain During Pregnancy
...
The amniotic fluid and the uterus are another 4.2 pounds together. The swelling body fluids (blood and extra water) make up 12 pounds.
Your enlarged breasts now weigh 4 pounds.

All of these additional products add up to about 29 pounds, and your OB/GYN will use a pregnancy weight gain calculator and will be able to tell you whether or not the actual weight you gain, is healthy.

Now that you know all of the numbers, you don t have to freak out about your growing body. You can rest assured that the weight you gain during pregnancy is easily disposed of afterward.

Suppose that you rearrange your life to homeschool your child and the experiment fails? You may feel that you ve disrupted your life and wasted a year of your child s time. Your child may even be kept back a grade by the local public school.

The answer to this concern is, can you risk not trying? Isn t your child s future worth the risk? If you see that your child is getting a bad education in public school, the worst thing to do is nothing. Then there is no chance of improvement. If you leave your children in public school, chances are good that their ability to read, self-esteem, and love of learning may be damaged, and they can waste twelve years of their lives. Look at the potential consequences to your child if you don t try other education alternatives.

The real question is this: Is good enough, good enough for your child? Your child is unique and precious. He or she is born with a love of learning and a unique potential. Your child s love of learning, self-confidence, and potential can be squashed in the rigid atmosphere of public schools. Is a third-rate public-school education good enough for your child. If you could give your child a rich, fun, rewarding education that will make your child s mind and future blossom, isn t that worth the risk of trying?

If the only problem is money because you can t afford $8000 a year private schools, then happily there is a great new option for you-Internet private schools. These schools are low-cost and can give your child a fun, quality, and rewarding education.

Homeschooling Disadvantages - What You Need to Consider
...

How To Homeschool Without Making Your Child An Outcast
...

<a href="http://www.family-and-home-plan.info/2007/11/08/homeschooling-vs-preschool-education-and-socialization/" rel="bookmark" title="Permanent Link: Homeschooling VS.
While no one can guarantee you success, like anything else in life, if you keep trying, you will probably succeed in giving your child a great education at home. If you say to yourself, “I will make this work, for my child s sake,” you ll be surprised at what you can accomplish. Tell yourself what Gene Kranz, actor Ed Harris s character in the movie Apollo 13, said to his Houston crew about rescuing the astronauts in trouble: “Failure is not an option.” If you say this and mean it, you re halfway to success for yourself and your child.

The Victorian baby names are names at Victorian England during the 18th century. Particularly, the baby names are from the 1840 to 1890. Actually, the time period was named after Queen Victoria (1837 - 1901). The baby names gain in popularity for its touch of adventure, romance, and classical.

Some English baby names are borrowed from literature on the Victorian era. For example, the Great White Whale, Adventure of Tom Sawyer, Books of Charles Dickens, and Sherlock Holmes. The names on ancient literature and mythology were also prevalent like Achilles, and Hector.

Names may sound fashionable and trendy on a particular era, but the names may sound the opposite today. For example, the Pink and Dink which are baby names meaning the color pink and high income couple respectively are the top 300 baby names on Victorian era (1881). Today, the Pink and Dink may sound a little awkward.

Many names originated from the Holy Bible. As a matter of fact, the biblical baby names are dominant on the Victorian era. For example, John, Thomas, James, Joseph, Samuel, Jacob, Mary, Margaret, Sara, and Ruth have biblical origin. Actually, many biblical names are still popular today.

Virtuous baby names are dominant on the Victorian era as well. For example, Chastity, Hope, Mercy, Prudence, and Charity are virtuous baby names on Victorian era. Mostly, the virtuous baby names are for female baby names.

In some names, the first and middle name fuses together to form a single first name.

The Top Ten Floral Names For Baby Girls
...

Free List of Baby Names
...

Masculine Baby Names
...

3 Simple Steps In Searching For A Baby Name
...

Sanskrit Baby Names
...
This baby naming practice appeared in multiple times in census, marriage, and public records.

The society in Victorian England was divided into upper, middle, and lower class. The family who belong to the upper class used the baby names prevalent to the upper class. As time goes by, the middle and lower class improves to higher class. The baby names which were prevalent on the higher class trickled down to the lower class.

The royalty, religious, and political leaders also influenced the baby names. For example, George, William, Victoria, and Elizabeth are royalty baby names.

It s never too early to begin preparing for your retirement and one of the best ways to prepare is to set up an Individual Retirement Account (often referred to as an IRA).

The purpose of an IRA is to serve as a personal tax-qualified retirement savings plan. Anyone who works, whether as an employee or self-employed, can set aside a set amount in an IRA, with the earnings on these investments tax-deferred until the date of distribution. In addition, certain individuals are permitted to deduct all or part of their contributions to the IRA. Plus, as of 1998, certain individuals can also set up Roth IRAs, to which contributions are not deductible, but from which withdrawals at retirement won t be taxed.

It doesn t take much to set up an IRA. The trustee (or custodian) can be a bank, mutual fund, brokerage house or other financial institution. You cannot be your own trustee. An IRA can be established and a contribution made after year-end, no later than the due date for filing the income tax return for that year, not including extensions. This generally means that you have until April 15th of the following year to make the contribution and deduct it on your tax return.

The most you can contribute to an IRA in any single year (as of 2006) is the smaller of $4,000 or an amount equal to the compensation includible in income for the year. Those 50 years old and above will also be allowed to make additional $1,000 catch-up contributions to an IRA each year to help them save more for retirement.

The same limit applies even if you have more than one IRA, or more than one type of IRA. When both you and your spouse have compensation, you can each contribute the maximum, which means $8,000 total ($10,000 if you are both 50 or over). In 2008, IRA contribution limits will be raised to $5,000, while the catch up contribution for those 50 years old and above will remain at $1,000.

You do not have to contribute the full amount allowed every year. You may skip a year or even several years. You may resume making contributions in any subsequent year, but you cannot add additional funds to make up for those years when no contribution was made.

Contributions must be from compensation. This can be from wages, salaries, commissions and other sources of earned income. Contributions do not include such things as deferred compensations, retirement payments, or portfolio income from interest or dividends.

Individual Retirement Account Withdrawals
...

Individual Retirement Accounts
...

Exciting New Adventures Ahead With Retirement Account
...

401K Retirement Plans
...

Early Distributions From Retirement Plans
...

No contributions may be made to an inherited IRA, in a form other than cash, or during or after the year in which the individual reaches age 70.5.

You must begin taking distributions from an IRA no later than April 1st of the year following the year in which you reach age 70.5, or the year in which you retire, whichever is later.

This is a quick and general overview of IRAs. The rules are slightly different for Roth IRAs, which have their own contribution and distribution limitations. Before setting up an IRA, take the time to talk to your banker, accountant, or financial advisor to make sure you have a firm grasp on your options and set up the IRA which best serves your personal needs.

Back to school is in the air. Parents are currently being bombarded with back-to-school sales in magazines, newspapers, television ads, and store flyers. Whether you shop online or wait in line, advertisers suggest that their store or website has everything you could possibly need to get your child school ready.

Have you made your list yet? Most lists include: a book bag, pens, pencils, glue stick, spiral note pad, compass, calculator, 3-ring binder, gym shoes, and clothes. You may even have a lunch box on your list.

But are these things what your children really need in order to be ready for school? Perhaps getting your child school ready involves more that buying things. Maybe supplies are not what you need to supply for your children to get them off to a good start this school year. It just might be that the best getting-ready-for-school strategies you can employ are not found at the mall or your local department store.

Below are five suggestions for getting your children school ready. Do they need to be on your back-to-school list?

1. Start the school schedule early. Break the summer sleep-in/stay-up-late mode. Begin the morning and evening school routine at least two weeks before school actually starts. Don t expect that your child will be able to make the adjustment to getting up for school quickly or easily without a break-in period. Take the full two weeks to work into the routine slowly by adjusting the bedtime and wakeup time a few minutes every day until the desired time is reached. Your goal is to have the schedule set prior to the first day of school.

2. Create a positive attitude about going back to school. Talk to your children about being able to see their friends, meet their new teacher, and all the opportunities that being at school provides. Focus on your child s area of interest and emphasize the ways in which school helps make it possible for her to pursue it. When your child speaks negatively, redirect him into the positive.

3. Visit the school. Reacquaint your child with the school. During the summer, classrooms change, teachers transfer to new buildings, principals are reassigned, and new playground equipment gets installed. Don t wait for orientation day to get reacquainted. Go to the school and play on the playground, meet the new principal or office personnel, talk to the janitor.

Back to School Routines for Parents
...

Tips For an Easier Morning
...

College Girlfriends
...

Back-To-School Shop the Smart Way!
...

Prepare Your Child for the First Day of School
...
Set goals for the upcoming school year. Help your children create realistic expectations for themselves about school. Talk about what they want to accomplish this school year, not what you want them to accomplish. Remember, not all of school is about grades. Making new friends, speaking up in class, standing up for oneself, staying organized, and managing behavior are all crucial skills for a successful school year.

5. Model learning. Create a time in your home when everyone is involved in learning-related activities such as reading, playing with numbers, telling family stories, journaling, or quiet reflection. Turn off the television and video games and have a set time for the whole family to feed their brain. In fact, model learning year round, even through the summer months. This will set the stage for homework. A study time can be a logical extension of the learning time you have in your home.

Give your kids every opportunity to be ready for school this year. Head to the mall or department store with your list of needed items, and remember to add to your list the suggestions above. By doing so you will give your kids what they really need to begin this school year: structure, energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.

Unless someone has experienced the entire adoption process firsthand, no one can truly appreciate what is involved in this long haul. Some couples know right from the start that they will adopt. Others however don t begin the application process until after years of disappointment. Either way, the end result - a beautiful child - makes the journey all worthwhile.

The gift of a loving family is an immeasurable reward to treasure but can you think of a more precious material gift to give you child than the entire “birth process” documented in the form of a scrapbook? Once he/she is old enough to appreciate it, this scrap book will be examined time and time again. Start with a heart-felt letter of how much you deeply desired to grow your family write about the anticipation and the prayers as you waited, and waited some more.

Detail accounts of the application process, the background check, and the home visit. Mark your shopping trips for bedroom furniture and a new wardrobe with photos of the occasions. If it s an international adoption, do a section in your scrapbook on the country of origin. You may want to celebrate the heritage of your child so add thorough detail about the birth country.

An adoption scrapbook is similar to a baby brag book, only it reflects more on the journey, not the end result. It is much like a pregnancy scrapbook. You want to include milestones, victories and disappointments. Any parent of adult children knows the timeline from diapers to graduation goes far too quickly. And while you are convinced you ll remember every detail about the adoption process, the truth is you simply can t remember it all.

International Adoption Resources
...

Cultural Issues in Adoption Agencies
...

Organize Your Scrapbooking Space
...

Adoption Registries
...

Infant Adoption Costs and What to be Prepared For
...
The day you ve been waiting for - in many cases, waiting for years, will finally come to fruition. It will be a banner celebration - marked by friends and family, balloons and signage and most of all - lots of joy. Be sure to capture this joyous occasion with countless photos. Not that I needed to tell any proud parent to remember to take photos!

The welcome home celebration will be the final chapter to your Adoption Scrapbook. What may have started out as anticipation filled frustration will be completed with pure bliss. Memorialize this event!

Woodpecker bird feeders are a great way to attract woodpeckers to your yard. Woodpeckers are a great bird to have in your yard because they eat insects and bugs that are in and on your trees as well as your garden. A woodpecker will eat grasshoppers, flies, wasps, beetles, grubs and can eat thousands of carpenter ants a day.

A great way to keep these pecking birds in your yard is to offer them their own woodpecker bird feeder. The bird feeder that is best suited for a woodpecker is a suet bird feeder. Suet cakes are available in a variety of styles from peanut, seed, berry and raisin flavors. Another favorite of woodpeckers and a great woodpecker feeder would be a perching bird feeder. This type of perching bird feeder would include a platform bird feeder. It is important that there is lots of perching space on your bird feeder for the woodpecker. On your platform woodpecker bird feeder be sure to include woodpeckers favorite seed, black oil sunflower. Some woodpeckers will come to your platform bird feeder if you have cracked corn or grapes, raisins and apples.

Woodpeckers and other flickers also enjoy drinking sweet nectar, just like orioles and humming birds. You can place a hummingbird feeder or an oriole nectar bird feeder in your yard as a treat to the woodpeckers that you have attracted. With a humming bird feeder, or a nectar feeder make sure that the feeding holes are large enough for the woodpeckers beak.

There are many different varieties of woodpeckers, as well as different sizes. The most common type of woodpecker you are to seed at your woodpecker feeder would be the Common Flicker, Red-headed Woodpecker and the Yellow-bellied Sapsucker. If you are lucky you may even attract a Pileated Woodpecker to your woodpecker feeder. These are only a few types of woodpeckers there are at least 10 different types of woodpeckers that you could attract to your backyard wild bird feeding station.

Homemade Bird Feeders
...

Humming Bird Feeders
...

Building a Bird Feeder
...

Little Known Ways to Successfully Setup Your Finch Bird Feeders
...

The Advantage of Tube Bird Feeders
...
aplusbirdfeeders.com" target="_new">http://www.aplusbirdfeeders.com Visit http://www.aplusbirdfeeders.com for great information on bird feeders, wild birds, and how to attract wild birds to your backyard.

Our 2006 Summer has finally arrived, and for all the costume party enthusiasts that just can t wait for Fall for Halloween to arrive once again, you may be searching for some really cool adult costume ideas for your next hot summer shindig!

The BBQ is ready, the burgers are seasoned, but you want to add a little more pizzazz to your outdoor summer party. So you decide to throw a costume party, but where do you begin? I will help you with some fun ideas that will have your guests requesting a costume encore party for many summer seasons to come.

Throwing a home and backyard costume party is a great way to entertain your guests, and is a fantastic way for new people to meet other individuals in a fun and interactive environment.

If you have gone to a get-together in the past where you don t know many people, it can sometimes be very awkward, but when you create an interactive theme and add fun costumes, everyone can play the part, plus it allows all the guests to mingle comfortably in a unique non-stressful atmosphere.

Before sending out your invitations, you want to create a costume theme that is not difficult to achieve, and does not cost a lot of money. Some of the most popular theme parties in the past have been Hawaiian, Mardi Gras, Masquerade parties, but how about you get a little more creative and think of something that may not have been done yet, and if you re having some difficulty coming up with any ideas, let me help you!

If You And Your Guests Love Movies, Fantasy, And Adult Party Themes, Read On!

When organizing a birthday party for children, it s usually very simple and most kids enjoy being a clown, cowboy & cowgirl, or their favorite sci-fi characters. However, for adults you want to create a little more stimulation for the guests, and create that party theme that people just want to be a part of and talk about for weeks on end afterwards.

How do you go about creating this knockout theme party you ask? It s simple! First you have to understand the type of guests you are going to invite, and then tailor the theme around what they like and their personalities.

This will determine how risky or tame your adult costume party will turn out to be. You don t want to go too crazy if you happen to invite your parents, or future In-laws, and you don t want to go to soft if you have a wild group of friends that like to go all out!

Adult Fun Starts With A Unique Theme And What You Create Around It

Once you determine your guests character traits, your next step is to find decorations, and also have your food complement the theme of your party. So you have a wild bunch of partiers? How about having a “Saran Wrap Party”! This one is easy, all you have to do is get all your guests to arrive wearing only Saran Wrap, and they can get as creative as they like, or they can be as revealing as they feel comfortable with. How about having a backyard beach party with a twist. All the men have to wear a one or two-piece women s bathing suit, and the women have to wear men s attire such as board shorts and beach shirts.

Now I know you may be asking where the fun is for the women wearing guys attire. The whole purpose is to get the guys in those g-string bikinis and create a really funny atmosphere. The men will be feeding off the humour and the women will feel less intimidated and possibly more open to the environment when meeting new guys at your party.
